Jazzy has always dreamed of becoming a hairdresser and with the help of her Coach Abdul, she is well on her way to making that dream a reality.

Jazzy began her SLES (School Leaver Employment Supports) journey with HELP in 2021 while she was completing her final year of high school.

Over the past 12 months, Jazzy has undertaken travel training, learned about appropriate behaviour in the workplace, worked on her communication skills, and role-played salon scenarios, all in the pursuit of her dream career.

With a new range of skills under her belt, Jazzy has been able to land a work experience opportunity at the very aptly named Jazzy Lane Hair Studio in Toowoomba.

Her day to day duties at the salon include:

• Greeting clients and taking them to their seat
• Offering beverages and magazines
• Sweeping and keeping the basins and trolleys tidy
• Washing and folding towels and capes

Jazzy absolutely loves helping at the salon and interacting with staff and customers, and is excited to continue working toward her future.

Way to go Jazzy!!!
